A teen vanished after attending a school football game in Colorado. She was last seen looking “intoxicated” with two “sketchy older men,” aside from a disturbing photo received by her parents. She’s now been found alive. What happened?

Colorado teen vanishes after HS football game, later seen looking “intoxicated” with two “sketchy older man”

Chloe Campbell, a 14-year-old girl, vanished after last being seen leaving a high school football game at Boulder High School in Boulder, Colorado, around 6 PM, according to local authorities.

Her family described her as having blonde hair and blue eyes, standing approximately 5-foot-6 tall, and weighing about 120 pounds, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a purple top, and a black hoodie.

Boulder, Colorado, is the same town in which JonBenet Ramsey was killed, whose 1996 murder remains unresolved decades later, Fox 10 reported.

Witnesses later reported spotting her looking “intoxicated” on Boulder Creek Trail. They described her as being in the company of two “sketchy older men” who were “too old to be high school students.”

Parents receive disturbing photo, messages indicated she was in Arizona

Complicating matters of Campbell’s disappearance, her parents said they received a “disturbing photo” of their daughter looking “injured and unwell” from an anonymous source, the New York Post reported. The photo raised concerns about the missing girl’s safety.

Her family wrote they remained “gravely concerned that she may be being trafficked and is not able to voluntarily come home.”

Campbell’s father said his daughter was a “high risk” target for predators after struggling through the pandemic, the Daily Mail reported. Her parents were further concerned because the teenager had no access to money or her medication, which they say she takes for physical and mental conditions.

“Friends have received messages that they believe could be from Chloe saying she is safe with a ‘family’ in Arizona and does not want to return home,” the Boulder Police Department wrote on Facebook, “but family and police have been unable to confirm if these messages are, in fact, from Chloe or true.”

Missing girl found in a house 25 miles from where she disappeared – what happened?

Ten days after Chloe Campbell went missing, she was found alive at a house in Thorton, Colorado, 25 miles from where she was last seen, Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold announced.

Boulder Deputy Police Chief Stephen Redfearn said Chloe appeared to be unharmed, with no visible signs of injury, and added: “We have no belief at this time that she was held against her will.”

Cops say they believe the teenager ran away from home and took “considerable steps” to avoid contact with her family and law enforcement. Boulder police are still investigating where she was during the ten days of her disappearance and what occurred while she was separated from her family.

Chief Herold said the teenager will be medically examined, and appropriate social service support resources will be referred to her.

The chief added that it was too early in the investigation to state if there are any persons of interest related to her disappearance. The two men last seen near Chloe are not believed to have been involved in her running away.
