Joy Behar says Biden can fix the classified docs controversy by apologizing

The View co-host Joy Behar says the easiest way for president Joe Biden to fix the controversy over his possession of classified documents found at his home and office is to “apologize.” The other co-hosts offered their wisdom.

Joy Behar says Biden can fix classified documents debacle by apologizing

Joy Behar, the 80-year-old co-host of ABC’s The View who declared she “loves Joe Biden” on the show this week, criticized the president for not speaking out sooner on the classified documents – but offered an easy fix.

Behar believes Biden needs to admit that he “looked hypocritical” and then apologize for being in possession of the classified documents found at his home and office, the Daily Mail reported.

“It would have been helpful for Joe Biden when it first came out to say, ‘We have tape of Joe Biden saying that Trump did something stupid and shouldn’t have done it and it was bad,”‘ Behar said on the show this week. “Well, he should have said, ‘Look, I know I look hypocritical in that tape, I’m sorry about that, I didn’t know about this. And now that I know it, I will do what I can to uncover this.'”

“He should be speaking to the American people, or else just act like a Republican and say, ‘It’s a witch hunt,'” Behar suggested, “‘And let’s fire [US Attorney] Merrick Garland.”‘

What goes around comes around

In September, President Biden called former President Donald Trump “irresponsible” for having hundreds of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.

“How that could possibly happen?” Biden asked aloud during an interview with 60 Minutes. “How one – anyone – could be that irresponsible?”

“And I thought what data was in there that may compromise sources and methods,” Biden continued. “By that, I mean, names of people helped or et cetera.”

Biden found in possession of numerous classified documents

Despite his earlier statements, Biden has been caught being in possession of classified documents.

The first reports of classified documents in Biden’s possession came out in early January, and the first batch of documents was discovered at the Penn Biden Center in November, Fox reports.

On December 20, Biden’s personal counsel reports additional documents found in the garage of Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, according to factcheck.org

On January 11, Biden’s personal attorneys searched his Delaware homes in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach and came across another document with classified markings.

January 14, CBS News, citing an anonymous source, reported that a total of “roughly 20” classified documents have been found at Biden’s office and home.

Other co-hosts of the view offered their wisdom on Biden classified documents controversy

The other co-hosts of the view also offered their own insight and wisdom on President Biden’s classified document debacle.

“Is it a document free for all?” Cohost Sunny Hostin asked, stating that the president was “careless” with the documents and should come clean while also criticizing the White House for the “dripping out of information.”

“I think it would go a long way [for Biden] to also say, ‘I was careless and so we need to not only review these documents but we need to review the processes that are in place,” Hostin suggested.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin called for transparency and said Biden should “set expectations.”
