Cosmic coincidence as Damar Hamlin’s college teammate recovers fumble

A cosmic coincidental moment occurred as a college teammate of Damar Hamlin recovered a fumble at the exact spot where the jersey number of the Bills’ safety was painted on the field. Update: Hamlin leaves the hospital.

Damar Hamlin’s college teammate recovers fumble at exact spot where Bills safety’s number was painted on field

It was a moment that could have come right out of an episode of Touched by an Angel, as a fumble recovery during the Titans-Jaguars game seemed to be more than coincidence as if cosmic guidance had played a hand.

As a tribute to Buffalo Bill safety Damar Hamlin, who suffered an on-field cardiac arrest in the first quarter during a Monday Night Football game earlier in the week, the “3” at both 30-yard lines were outlined in red. No. 3 is Hamlin’s jersey number, Fox reported.

In addition, before the Jaguars-Titans matchup, the Jacksonville and Tennessee players came together for a group prayer for Hamlin.

Perhaps the prayer stirred up some “angelic oversight” because a moment happened that can only be viewed as a “cosmic coincidence.”

Titans’ linebacker Rashad Weaver, who was Hamlin’s teammate for five years at the University of Pittsburgh, where they both played for the Panthers, recovered a fumble right on top of the tribute No. 3 at the thirty-yard line.

Could it have been a sign that the prayers for Hamlin were heard?

Damar Hamlin update: Discharged from hospital, at home

On Wednesday, January 10, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin was discharged from Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, and he will continue his rehabilitation at home and with the team, the Bills announced on Wednesday, the NFL reported.

Hamlin was released Monday from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he had been under care since the events of January 2 and was transferred to the Buffalo General Medical Center the same day.

“We have completed a series of tests and evaluations, and in consultation with the team physicians, we are confident that Damar can be safely discharged to continue his rehabilitation at home and with the Bills,” Dr. Jamie Nadler, the care team lead for Hamlin at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, said in a statement.

When will Hamlin return to the team?

“We’ll leave it up to him,” Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said regarding Hamlin’s return to the team’s facility in Orchard Park, New York. “His health is first and foremost on our mind as far as his situation goes, and then when he feels ready, we’ll welcome back.”
