After Trump’s dinner with antisemitic pals, he slams US Jews as disloyal

After former President Donald Trump was criticized for having dinner with a pair of antisemitic pals, he turned the tables, saying it is US Jewish leaders who should be “ashamed” for a “lack of loyalty” over what he did for Israel.

Jewish leaders condemned Trump over his choice of dinner companions

Former President Donald Trump ignited a firestorm of criticism hosted a dinner that included Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, who was fresh off his own debacle for repeated antisemitic comments. Ye brought along a guest: White nationalist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, the Hill reported.

The private dinner occurred two days before Thanksgiving at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, NBC reported. The dinner came on the heels of Ye losing lucrative partnerships and becoming a mainstream cultural pariah over his antisemitic remarks.

Kanye punks Trump

Ye actually brought along three guests, one of which was Fuentes. Trump claims he did not know Fuentes or anything about his background, something Fuentes also confirmed in an interview.

Fuentes’ presence at the dinner resulted in an avalanche of criticism. Trump’s campaign said it is now instituting new vetting procedures and gatekeeping efforts to better control who gets near the former president.

What caused the most damage was Ye blasting out a “Mar-a-Lago debrief” video to his 32.2 million Twitter followers the next day, in which he stated: “Trump is really impressed with Nick Fuentes.” Further, Fuentes praised Trump as “my hero.”

“The master troll got trolled,” a longtime Trump advisor said. “Kanye punked Trump.”

Trump admits mistake but doesn’t apologize

For days after the dinner, Trump made no expressions of regret or apologies for Ye and Fuentes, despite outrage from the Jewish community in what came to be called “Dinnergate.”

Finally, pressured by advisors and other influential Republicans, Trump gave in, issuing a statement to Fox.

“I had never heard of the man,” Trump said. “I had no idea what his views were, and they weren’t expressed at the table in our very quick dinner, or it wouldn’t have been accepted.”

Trump turns tables by slamming US Jews for a “lack of loyalty”

Less than two weeks after Trump’s “Dinnergate” scandal, the former president went on the offensive, slamming the Jewish community and its leaders, saying they “should be ashamed of themselves” for their “lack of loyalty” over what he had done for Israel, Yahoo reported.

“How quickly Jewish leaders forgot that I was the best, by far, president for Israel,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social site. “They should be ashamed of themselves.”

“This lack of loyalty to their greatest friends and allies is why large numbers in Congress and so many others, have stopped giving support to Israel,” Trump added.

It wasn’t the first time Trump made such remarks. He made similar comments in a post last October.

“No President has done more for Israel than I have,” Trump stated at the time. “Somewhat surprisingly, however, our wonderful Evangelicals are far more appreciative of this than the people of the Jewish faith, especially those living in the U.S.”

“Those living in Israel, though, are a different story – Highest approval rating in the World, could easily be P.M.!” Trump added. “U.S. Jews have to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel – Before it is too late!”
