Woman Sues ‘Bad Date’ for 10K–You Won’t Believe Why, Goes Off on Judge

A woman who had one bad date with a man is suing for $10,000 over intentional infliction of emotional distress. She went off on the judge–this case is far from over–but you won’t believe what went wrong on the date!

Woman files lawsuit over “bad date”

A potential historic lawsuit in the making… A case too unreal to be real, especially for the man who got sued over a bad date. But it’s all too true.

A woman named QaShontae Short has sued a man named Richard Jordan in Flint, Michigan, over a date that did not meet her expectations. Ms. Short accused her suitor of intentional infliction of emotional distress, TMZ first reported.

The woman is seeking $10,000 in restitution for her mental anguish.

The lawsuit was initially filed in 2020. The pair only recently ended up in the courtroom of Judge Herman Marable, Jr.

Bad date: What went wrong? You won’t believe it!

What is it that Jordan did to intentionally inflict emotional distress on QaShontae, as she claims?

He was a no-show.

You read that correctly. She is seeking ten grand for being stood up.

According to QaShontae, Jordan “did not show and left her on her mother’s birthday and her mom had just passed away,” the Daily Mail reported. QaShontae believes Jordan intentionally and deliberately hurt her by failing to appear for their planned rendezvous.

Zoom court appearance ends with shouting match between woman and judge

The hearing for the lawsuit was held over a zoom conference.

Jordan explained to the judge: “To be honest with you sir, I thought this was just gonna be thrown out.”

“We had a date, one date, and nothing else after that,” Jordan continued. “And now I’m being sued for $10,000. I think this is a waste of your time.”

However, when it was QaShontae’s turn to speak, things quickly went off the rails. She began yelling at the judge and refusing to answer his questions.

As things escalated, the judge ripped off his face shield to be better heard and raised his voice while QaShontae continued to shout over him.

QaShontae accuses Jordan of committing perjury, and the judge stops her and tells her that can only occur in a courtroom because it’s committed under oath, Complex reported.

QaShontae took offense to the judge’s corrections, continuing to yell over him. “He put a document that stated a lie. Bottom line you said it was a criminal offense, so I will send it to circuit court.”

“Are we done here?” QaShontae continues ranting. “Are we done here? I know exactly what perjury means.”

“Please do not insult my intelligence,” QaShontae added. “Do not! If it’s a criminal offense, then it’s a criminal offense.”

Finally, in frustration, Judge Marable ordered the claim be moved to a circuit court.

QaShontae and Jordan will have another date – with another judge in Circuit Court.
