Tom Brady Scores Massive Deal

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady says he has “unfinished business” with the Buccaneers. Still, when he eventually retires (again), a $375 million, 10-year contract as a lead analyst with Fox Sports is waiting.

Brady is not retiring (again) yet, but a sports analyst gig inked for his future

In late January, rumors swirled that Tom Brady was retiring. Many were skeptical, knowing he was set to be paid $15 million in the coming days if he re-upped his contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If Brady continued into the 2022 season, the Bucs would have to pay his remaining $15 million on February 18 on his $20 million signing bonus, according to Spotrac.

Then on February 1, Brady, then 44 years old, announced his retirement in an Instagram post after 22 years in the NFL.

“I have always believed the sport of football in an ‘all-in’ proposition – if a 100 percent competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed and success is what I love so much about our game,” Brady wrote at the time. “This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”

That was it…or so everyone thought.

Then, in mid-March, the NFL tweeted two words: “He’s back.” The world knew who “he” was.

“These past two months, I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady tweeted on Sunday, March 13. “That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa.”

And now, a new announcement about retirement, but don’t worry, Tom’s not retiring yet.

Fox Sports hires Tom Brady with a $375 million salary as lead analyst

On Tuesday, May 10, Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced the network had signed Tom Brady to a ten-year contract worth $375 million to become the lead NFL analyst with Fox Sports when he retires, the New York Post reported.

As a lead analyst, when Tom Brady’s NFL career ends, he will work alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

As an NFL player, in his 22 seasons in the NFL (not counting the forthcoming 23rd season), Tom Brady has earned just shy of $300 million, CBS Sports reported.

After the deal was announced, Tom Brady wrote on Twitter: “Excited, but a lot of unfinished business on the field with the @Buccaneers #LFG.”

The acquisition of Tom Brady gives Fox sports and NFL analyst who is considered not only the greatest quarterback of all time but the greatest NFL player of all time’

“Over the course of this long-term agreement, Tom will not only call our biggest NFL games with Kevin Burkhardt but will also serve as an ambassador for us, particularly concerning the client and promotional initiatives,” Fox Sports said in a statement.
