Police Investigating Death of Reporter Who Revealed Secret Clinton Meeting

Police in Alabama are investigating the death of a reporter who broke the story of a controversial meeting between former President Bill Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch in 2016, as #ClintonBodyCount trends.

Reporter Found Dead of Apparent Suicide, Police Investigating

On Saturday morning, police in Alabama found the body of 45-year-old Christopher Sign, a news anchor for ABC 33/40 in Birmingham. Sign was an Emmy winning reporter, as well as a former football player at the University of Alabama.

Hoover Police Department Lt. Keith Czeskleba told AL.com they are investigating Sign’s death as a suicide, The Hill reported.

But many, including former colleagues, are questioning Sign’s suicide, especially in light of him bringing to light a controversial meeting connected to Bill and Hillary Clinton. Sign’s death has once again stirred up suspicions of the so-called “Clinton Body Count” or “Clinton Dead Pool” controversy.

Sign Published a Book About the Secret Meeting Last Year

Christopher Sign wrote a book about the 2016 incident titled “Secret on the Tarmac,” that was published in 2020.

Sign was interviewed by Fox and said this about the Clinton-Lynch meeting: “When I broke this story, we knew that something had occurred here that was a bit unusual. It was a planned meeting. It was not a coincidence. This details everything they don’t want you to know and everything they think you forgot.”

“There’s so much that doesn’t add up,” Sign added.

Lynch was subsequently interviewed by CNN.

“I do regret sitting down and having a conversation with him, because it did give people concern,” Lynch told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “And as I said, my greatest concern has always been making sure that people understand that the Department of Justice works in a way that is independent and looks at everybody equally.”

Controversial Clinton-Lynch Meeting in 2016

In June 2016, Sign broke the story of meeting held on the tarmac at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport between then-Attorney General General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton, which made national headlines.

What made the clandestine meeting significant was it occurred at a time when the FBI was investigating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of an unauthorized email server and the presidential election in which she was the Democratic candidate, the Washington Examiner reported.

The meeting occurred only days before then-FBI Director James Comey announced the bureau would not recommend charges against Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton’s wife, for her emails.

Further, Lynch said in a July 1, 2016, interview that she would not recuse herself from the Clinton email investigation. However, Lynch did say she would accept the recommendation of the career agents and prosecutors who conducted the investigation.

47th Name for the “Clinton Body Count” or “Clinton Dead Pool”

A term that gets thrown around a lot is the “Clinton Body Count.” Another variation calls it the “Clinton Dead Pool.” Both refer to people who are associates and/or otherwise connected with former president Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary who have died, often under mysterious, questionable or suspicious circumstances.

Wikipedia will tell you the Clinton Body Count is a debunked conspiracy theory. PolitiFact will do the same.

However, an article by CBS in Las Vegas digs in in a more investigative manner in an article titled: “The List of Clinton Associates Who Allegedly Died Mysteriously. Check It Out.” The article lists 46 names and the alleged cause of death for 34 of those individuals on the “Clinton Dead Pool.”

And one more name to the list. It would read something like this:

Christopher Sign. Investigative reporter. Broke story on secret 2016 meeting with Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch, when Hillary was being investigated over emails. Found dead in June 2021. His death was a purported suicide.
