Millionaire parks where he wants: Broke people see tickets, I see VIP parking

A millionaire parks his pricey sports car wherever he pleases, already accumulating over 100 tickets in the past year alone, and says: “Broke people see a fine, but I see VIP parking.” Brilliant time hack or arrogant?

Defiant millionaire parks anywhere: “Only broke people care about tickets”

When it comes to the cost of things, such as repairs on expensive items like a Porsche sports car, there’s an old saying: “If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.”

Such is the mindset of one young and defiant millionaire who parks his luxury BMW M4 anywhere he pleases. Luke Desmaris, 27, has racked up more than 100 tickets in the past year alone for parking in areas that are strictly prohibited at all times.

Not that he cares.

The brazen Brit claims that he’s paid more than $8,100 in fines in the past 12 months as he repeatedly parks in illegal parking zones, the New York Post reported.

“Broke people see a fine, but I see VIP parking,” Desmaris said in an interview. “If I can save my time by doing that then I will.”

“It means I’m able to go home quicker to get back to trading,” Desmaris continued. “That’s my logic behind it.”

Desmaris claims he earns more than $1 million annually through stock market trading.

“I’ll do it when I go shopping, especially in London,” Desmaris added. “I started by getting a few [tickets] here and there and ever since I started doing well, it doesn’t matter.”

Time is money

Desmaris argues the point that since his time is so valuable in earning money, it outweighs the cost of parking tickets by saving him the more precious commodity of time.

Desmaris boasted about his parking practices in a TikTok video, which racked up over 3 million views, although not without controversy, as some people thought the cocky millionaire was “tacky,” and one even called him a ‘con man.’ Some thought he was arrogant and selfish for breaking the law and possibly even putting others at risk by doing so.

Parking “life hack”

Many others lauded Desmaris over his illegal parking practices, referring to it as a “life hack.”

“In central London it’s cheaper to get a parking fine than paying for a parking space for the day,” one commenter said.

Currently, parking fines in London are $150 but are reduced to $75 if they are paid within 14 days of being issued, according to the City of London Corporation, which is the governing body of the City of London.
