Kids’ and Teens’ Mullet Championships Winners, Crazy Hairstyles Go Viral

Joe Dirt would be proud…the winners of the 2022 USA mullet championships have been crowned for their crowning glory, and these young finalists are going viral as people can’t get enough of these crazy haircuts!

No wigs or extensions allowed: These mullets are the real deal. However, it is noteworthy that half of the entry fees to this wild and crazy contest are being donated to the Michigan Wig Foundation for kids.

Kevin Begola, who first launched the contest in his hometown of Fenton before taking it national, says of the mullet, “It’s not just a haircut, it’s a lifestyle.”

As the saying goes, “Business in the front, party in the back…” Winners have been announced in the 2022 USA Mullet Championships kids’ and teens’ divisions who have been crowned for their crowning glory, the Daily Mail reported.

These hairstyles in the kids’ division were so hot they had to wear shades!

Eight-year-old Emmitt Bailey, from Menomonie, Wisconsin, was named the winner. His mullet featured a faux-hawk, combined with shaped sides and long curly hair behind the ears. In addition to being crowned the king of the mullets, Emmitt takes home a cash prize of $2,500. Emmett says it took him nearly two years to grow his mullet.

The second place mullet-wearer is Epic Orta, from La Joya, Texas, whose “epic” mullet featured a spiky, Motley Crue-esque top with lengthy locks in the back.

Third place went to William Dale Ramsey (note the inclusion of the middle name in true Southern fashion)of Pataskala, Oklahoma, sported a classic mullet with parted hair swiping to the right.

In the teen division, first place was awarded to Kayden Kershaw of Wausau, Wisconsin. He displayed a perfectly styled “business in the front” coif of thick blonde hair, with his longer, swept-back lion’s mane flowing behind.

Second place winner Fisher Monds of Hilliard, Florida, displayed a massive mane of locks in the back that might rival Rapunzel.

Third place winner Max Weihbrecht wore your classic mullet, as well as Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses as “ready to party” attire.

“Open” mullet division title still up for grabs until August 31

The 2022 Mullet championships aren’t over just yet. There is a Men’s “Open” category for anyone 19 years of age and older. The contest runs until August 31, the New York Post reported. There is a $10 entry fee, and contestants must submit three profile pics showing off their mullet.

Half of the entry fee for the “open” category will be donated to Stop Soldier Suicide, Unilad reported, an organization dedicated to helping veterans and service members. For entry information, go to mulletchamp.com/contests.
