Jeremy Renner died “for a couple of seconds” after the accident, says neighbor

Two of the neighbors of Jeremy Renner recalled finding the two-time Oscar nominee in excruciating pain following his snow plow accident on January 1, People reported.

“He had some blood coming out of his ears, his nose for sure,” said Rich Kovach. “And then his eye, it looked like it had been pushed out.”

“It was a horrible sound to listen to someone, just literally watching somebody die in front of you, and you feel so helpless,” said Barb Fletcher. She then described the moans she heard from Renner while Kovach was calling 911. “This is the sound of someone that was dying.”

“At one point, he just got a clammy feel to him, he turned this gray-green color and I feel in my heart that I feel like we lost him for a second,” Fletcher told ABC’s Diane Sawyer. “He closed his eyes. And I just tried to keep him awake.”

“I really feel he did pass away for a couple of seconds,” Fletcher added. “I really do.”

What “scared” Renner’s 10-year-old daughter after the accident

During an interview with Diane Sawyer, Renner revealed what “scared” his ten-year-old daughter Ava, whom he shares with his ex Sonni Pacheco.

“She didn’t have to say anything,” Renner said. “She said she’s scared. She said she loved me.”

Renner said that he had signed “I’m sorry” to his family after the incident.

“This is what I talk to my family about from all their perspectives, which are horrifying, that I put upon them,” Renner continued. “What we just endured.”

“That’s real love,” Renner added. “It’s suffering. But that feeds the seeds of what love is.”

Renner’s mom read Stephen King to him as he lay in the hospital

And a lighter moment during a recent interview, actor Jeremy Renner revealed that, while he lay in the hospital in significant pain following his accident, his mother made a rather interesting choice of material to read to him, People reported.

“So, she’s reading Stephen King,” Renner said, referring to his mom. “Some, like, horror thing.”

“But she just wants to read like she’s reading Dr. Seuss to me,” Renner explained. “Like, ‘How now, brown cow?'”

“It just happened to be what I was reading at the time,” Renner’s mother, Valerie, said. “I just wanted him to hear my voice.”

“Hurt Locker” costar Anthony Mackie “was at my bedside” after the accident, Renner says

Jeremy Renner said during an interview that his co-star from the 2009 Academy Award-winning movie The Hurt Locker, Anthony Mackie, was one of his biggest Hollywood supporters as he recovered from his injuries.

Like Renner, Mackie is also a fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe actor.

“Mackie was there at my bedside in Reno,” Renner said.

The interview also revealed that Renner received kind words from other Marvel co-stars, including Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, and Evangeline Lilly.
