GOP-Led Arizona Audit Shows Trump Lost by Larger Margin, Texas Audit Next

The GOP audit of Maricopa County, Arizona, of the 2020 presidential election has failed to find fraud. However, it appears to confirm that President Biden won the state’s largest county by a slightly higher margin. A Texas audit coming next.

Arizona audit shows Biden won by slightly larger margin

Cyber Ninjas, the contractor hired to audit the 2020 presidential election results for Maricopa County, Arizona, completed its work recently. The company issued a draft that was obtained by several media outlets, which appear to confirm that President Joe Biden received more votes than former President Donald Trump. The official report is slated to be released to the Arizona State Senate at 1 PM on Friday, The Hill reported.

A preliminary draft of the 110-page, three-volume report of the months-long hand recount shows that Biden’s margin of victory was slightly higher. The certified vote count by Maricopa County showed that Biden won by 45,109 votes. The hand recount by the Cyber Ninjas audit showed that Trump lost by 45,469 votes, Arizona Central reported. The difference is 360 votes in Biden’s favor.

Audit fails to find fraud

The hand recount involved nearly 2.1 million ballots, NPR reported.

Arizona’s Maricopa County tweeted: “This means the tabulation equipment counted the ballots as they were designed to do, and the results reflect the will of the voters.” The tweet was an excerpt from and included a graphic of the full statement from Maricopa County County Board Chairman Jack Sellers.

Texas announces 2020 election audit in 4 counties after Trump makes demands

Following a demand by former President Trump, who won Texas, that Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) back a bill to launch an election audit, only hours later, the state’s Secretary of State’s office announced it would conduct an election audit in four of the state’s largest counties, The Hill reported.

The office of the Texas Secretary of State did not provide further details about what its four-County audit would entail.

“Despite my big win in Texas, I hear Texans want an election audit!” Trump said. “You know your fellow Texans have big questions about the November 2020 Election.”

“Let’s get to the bottom of the 2020 Presidential Election Scam!” Trump added.

Texas’ office of the secretary of state announced “a full and comprehensive forensic audit” is underway in four counties which includes Dallas, Harris, Tarrant, and Collin counties.

In the 2020 presidential election, Trump won Collin, while Biden won Dallas, Harris, and Tarrant counties.

A number of Texas Democrats immediately decried the announcement, criticizing Governor Abbott for capitulating.

Republicans in a number of states have launched or are attempting to launch further probes of the 2020 presidential election based on continued claims by former President Trump of widespread voter fraud.
