Ex-FBI investigator thinks Idaho murders suspect gave details in online chat

An ex-FBI investigator believes the Idaho murders suspect posted chilling messages that foreshadowed the killings in an online chat group. Allegedly, the suspect shared details that turned out to be true and that no one but the culprit could have known.

Was Idaho murders suspect discussing the killings in online chats?

It sounds like a premise from an episode of Murder, She Wrote… A pair of online personas shared uncannily accurate speculations about the murders of four college students, including details no one but the killer could have known.

Former FBI investigator Jennifer Coffindaffer has a good theory about why two “online sleuths” were able to make suggestions that turned out to be true – she believes at least one of the personas was murder suspect Bryan Kohberger.

Coffindaffer said she had been following the comments of a Facebook user with the handle Pappa Rodgers along with a Redditor with the username InsideLooking, the Daily Mail reported.

Details not made public revealed online – only the killer could have known

In discussion groups online about the slaying of four college students in Idaho, both of the online personas pointed out some critical details before they were made public, including the timeline of the killings and the police discovery of a knife sheath. Both of the online personas also insisted their speculations were accurate.

“Killer parked behind the house,” user InsideLooking wrote. “Approached property through tree line. Entered sliding door and left it open.”

“Committed murders and exited sliding door,” InsideLooking elaborated. “One knife according to corners [sic] statement.”

“Time of murder approximately 3:20am – 3:40 am according to car fleeing scene and on camera on highway 8 approximately 3:45am,” InsideLooking wrote, laying out the timeline. “Vehicle left skid marks upon exit.”

In addition, InsideLooking accurately stated that the pictures of the shoe print police were investigating belong to the suspect.

In the Facebook and Reddit discussion groups, due to the fact that they repeatedly had accurate speculation about nonpublic information, other users accused the two online personas of being the real killer.

Online sleuths the killer or law enforcement in disguise?

Was one or both of the online personas suspect Bryan Kohberger? He maintains his innocence. It also can’t be ruled out that perhaps one or both of the personas were a member of law enforcement, revealing confidential information they couldn’t divulge through official or public channels.

About the suspect and the murders

For students from the University of Idaho were found stabbed to death in an off-campus rental home in Moscow, Idaho. The students were later identified as Ethan Chapin, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Fox 29 reported. Autopsies revealed they died from stab wounds, and their manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Nearly seven weeks later, local police and FBI agents arrested 28-year-old Bryan Christopher Kohberger at the home of his parents in Albright Seville, Pennsylvania, charging him with four counts of first-degree murder and felony burglary.

Kohberger’s arrest came after a DNA test matched genetic material found at the crime scene, the Associated Press reported.
