DeSantis says he’ll Send Migrants to Delaware over Secret Flights to Florida

After learning the Biden administration flew a reported 70 “clandestine” flights of illegal migrants into Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis threatened he “will send them to Delaware” on buses in response.

Florida Governor threatens to send illegal migrants to Biden’s home state

During a press conference on Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) unloaded on the Biden administration after learning through reports that dozens of planes have been making clandestine flights delivering illegal immigrants into the state, the Blaze reported.

“There’s no notification to the state of Florida,” DeSantis said, going on to describe the process of how the Biden administration is sending illegal aliens into the state. “These are done mostly in the middle of the night. And it’s clandestine. And we really have no say into it.”

“I know when we initially got wind of this, it wasn’t through normal channels,” DeSantis continued. “It’s people in the federal government who are effectively leaking this to us so that we have a heads up on it.”

He then floated the idea of sending the migrants to Biden’s home state of Delaware.

“You know, my view would be, why don’t we, if they’re going to come here, you know, we’ll provide buses, I will send them to Delaware and do that,” DeSantis said. “I mean, if he’s not going to support the border being secured, then he should be able to have everyone there. So, we will do whatever we can in that regard. And we are absolutely going to do everything we can.”

Illegal immigrants flown into Florida and other states

According to DeSantis, the flights began in May, the Daily Wire reported. DeSantis’ office told the Washington Examiner there had been over 70 flights of illegal migrants delivered to Florida since the summer.

Clandestine flights have carried illegal aliens from the southern border into a number of other states, the Blaze reported.

Speaking to Tucker Carlson of Fox, DeSantis said the “unannounced” flights are operating in the late hours of “one or two or three in the morning” while giving the state “no notice,” which precludes their ability to veto the flights.

Consequences of illegal migrants brought into the state

DeSantis’ remarks follow an incident in which a person in his early 20s, who posed as a minor and entered the US illegally at the southern border, was flown into Florida where he allegedly murdered a father of four, the Daily Wire reported.
