In a TikTok trend revealing the “rudest celebrity” she ever met, JoJo Siwa named Candace Cameron Bure. The Fuller House star called her and apologized – here’s the shocking reason for the rude label!

JoJo Siwa names Candace Cameron Bure as the “rudest celebrity” she ever met

Earlier this week, the 19-year-old So You Think You Can Dance judge JoJo Siwa participated in a TikTok trend where she revealed the coolest celebrity she’s met, her celebrity crush, and the nicest and rudest celebrities she ever met, BuzzFeed reported. The trend involves pulling up photos of the “answers” on her phone and presenting them without comment.

As for the nicest, Siwa named Miley Cyrus, and for her celeb crush she flashed a photo of Zendaya, US Weekly reported.

But to the astonishment of many, Siwa showed Candace Cameron Bure as her pick for the rudest celebrity without explaining why.

The story quickly went viral because the news left many people scratching their heads. Hardly anyone can imagine Candace Cameron Bure fitting the definition of “rude” given her bubbly on-screen personality.

This led to a lot of speculation. Siwa came out as pansexual last year, and has been dubbed a “gay icon,” the Daily Wire reported. Many speculated that the reason may have something to do with the very well-known conservative Christian stance of Cameron Bure.

But the matter turned out to be something unrelated to either of those subjects. Here’s what really happened.

Candace Cameron Bure calls JoJo Siwa and learns why she named her “rudest celebrity”

Shocked to see the viral headlines describing her as the “rudest celebrity,” Candace decided to call JoJo and talk it out.

“Honestly, I was shocked when I saw the TikTok on Sunday, and I had no idea where it came from,” Candace said in a 6-minute video she posted to her followers. “I immediately tried to reach out to her through mutual friends, and my publicist contacted her manager, and I DM’d her because I didn’t know what happened – I didn’t know!”

“So I was finally able to talk to JoJo this morning,” Candace explained. “I called her. And we had a great conversation. She was like, ‘Hey, how you doin’?’ I said, ‘Well, I’ve been better, what happened?'”

Candace said JoJo was surprised that her comment turned into such a “big deal.”

“I didn’t think this was gonna go viral … It was just a silly TikTok trend,” JoJo replied. “I didn’t think it was a big deal.”

“Well, it was a big deal, but what did I do to you?” Candace asked. “What did I do?”

JoJo said the whole thing was “silly” and she “felt bad” the whole comment had blown up in such a viral way.

“I met you at the Fuller House premiere when I was 11 years old,” the Dance Moms alum explained to Bure. “I had come up to you and said, ‘Can I have a picture with you?’ and you said to me, ‘Not right now.’ And then proceeded to do what you were doing and take pictures with other people on the red carpet.'”

Candace immediately apologized.

“Oh, JoJo, I’m so sorry,” Bure told

“Yeah, you weren’t even mean,” Siwa responded, “and I get it now as an adult when you’re on the red carpet and everything’s happening and you’re being pulled in different directions. But at that time, I was 11.”

“I kind of broke your 11-year-old heart,” Candace lamented. “I didn’t take a picture with you! I feel crummy. JoJo, I’m so sorry!”

JoJo insisted it “wasn’t a big deal.”

“Please know that, especially as a mom, it breaks my heart that I made you feel that way.” Candace continued apologizing. “And I’m sorry to your mom, too, that I did that to her daughter because I know if anyone crosses my kids, mama bear comes out.”
