Biden caught on hot mic cursing insult at reporter who asked inflation question
On Monday, during a meeting of the competition counsel in the East room of the White House, President Joe Biden responded to a shouted question about inflation by a FOX reporter by referring to the man using vulgarity, ABC reported.
The reporter, Peter Doocy from Fox, called out: “Do you think inflation is a political liability ahead of the midterms?”
“It’s a great asset — more inflation,” Biden responded with sarcasm. Then he shook his head and added, “What a stupid son of a b*tch.”
The president did not realize his comments were captured on video and the hot microphone in front of him.
Later, Ducey laughed it off during an appearance on Fox, joking: “Nobody has fact-checked him yet and said it’s not true.”
Inflation in the United States is now at a nearly 40-year high, now reportedly at 7 percent.
Treating people with dignity?
Ironically, on October 22, 2020, then-candidate Joe Biden tweeted: “Decency, honor, respect, treating people with dignity, making sure that everyone has an even chance. I’m going to make sure you get that. You haven’t been getting it the last four years.”
Biden testy with reporters in recent weeks
In recent weeks, President Biden has given sarcastic replies to questions from the press.
Last Wednesday, RealClearNews reporter Philip Wegmann asked President Biden: “You ran on a return to civility,” and then went on to point out Biden has characterized those who opposed his voting bills as being in league with racists, Fox reported.
“No, I didn’t say that,” Biden blurted. “That is an interesting reading of English. You — I assume you got into journalism because you liked to write.”
The next day, Fox reporter Jacqui Heinrich shouted a question to Biden on the Ukraine situation: “Why are you waiting on Putin to make the first move, sir?”
“What a stupid question,” Biden snapped back.
Biden “clears the air” with reporter
Fox reporter Peter Doocy says President Biden called him on Monday night to “clear the air,” the Daily Mail reported.
On the call, Doocy says the president told him:” ‘It is nothing personal, pal.'”
“I appreciate it,” Doocy said regarding the call from Biden. “We had a nice call. And I told him I appreciated him reaching out.”
During an interview with Hannity, the comments came with Doocy saying: “Hey, Sean, the world is on the brink of like World War III right now. With all the stuff going on. I appreciate that the president took a couple of minutes out … to give me a call and clear the air. But I don’t need anybody to apologize to me. He can call me whatever he wants as long as it gets him talking.”
