Pink gets standing ovation for Olivia Newton-John tribute
Pink delivered a powerhouse performance in a tribute to Olivia Newton-John, who passed away last summer. Her performance resulted in the crowd inside the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles giving her a standing ovation.
Pink performed an emotional performance of Newton-John’s classic “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from the 1978 movie Grease. Some audience members were brought to tears as images of Olivia were shown on the big screen behind Pink.
Olivia Newton-John died in August at the age of 73 after a long battle with breast cancer, E! Online reported.
Chris Brown booed, Kelly Rowland defends him
The crowd at the American music awards booed singer Chris Brown after he won an AMA for favorite male R&B artist, Unilad reported.
However, Chris Brown wasn’t in attendance. Former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland stepped up to accept the award on Brown’s behalf, Yahoo reported.
“Excuse me,” Rowland said, stepping up to the mic. “Chill out.”
“Chris, thank you so much for making great R&B music,” Rowland continued. “I’ll take this award [and] bring it to you.”
“I love you,” Rowland added. “Congratulations, and congratulations to all the nominees in this category.”
