Twist in Search for missing Massachusetts mother: death threat in 2014

Cops have ended the ground search for a still-missing Massachusetts mother who vanished on New Year’s Eve. Her husband has been arrested. However, in 2014, before her marriage, she told cops someone threatened to kill her.

Missing Massachusetts mother received a threat to kill her and a friend in 2014

Ana Walshe, a 39-year-old mother of three from Massachusetts, went missing sometime after having dinner with her husband and a friend on New Year’s Eve. She still has not been found, CBS reported.

Her husband, Brian Walshe, 46, has been arrested and charged with her murder.

However, investigators are reviewing an incident from August 2014 – before she married Brian.

Ana told police that someone had threatened to kill her and her friends. The report was made to Washington, D.C., police.

But in a shocking twist, the person who Ana believed made the threat was none other than future husband Brian Walshe. He allegedly made the threat over the phone. Brian lived in Boston at the time, according to the report.

However, no charges were filed after she refused to cooperate with the investigation, CBS Boston reported.

Missing Massachusetts mother: What is known so far?

Ana Walshe, a real estate executive who regularly commuted to Washington, D.C., for work, was not reported missing until January 3, when her husband and employees at her workplace “simultaneously reported” her disappearance, according to local police, People reported.

Authorities have now been investigating the case for three weeks, and Ana has yet to be found.

Husband arrested and charged with murder

A day before reporting Ana’s disappearance, on January 2, Brian was seen purchasing $450 worth of cleaning supplies at Home Depot, authorities say, Yahoo reported.

Although Ana Walshe has not been found, on January 17, authorities announced they were arresting her husband, Brian Walshe of Cohasset, Massachusetts, for allegedly misleading investigators, according to the office of Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey and local police.

Police searched the Walshe’s property and home, which included digging through piles of trash, and investigators found apparent bloodstains in the garbage and a hacksaw, ABC 6 reported. They also uncovered a bloodied knife at the home.

Police also discovered some physical evidence with Ana’s DNA at a trash processing facility, prosecutor Lynn Beland said in court, CBS reported.

Authorities further found that Brian used his son’s iPad to look up ways to dismember and dispose of a body.

Brian Walshe was arraigned on murder and other charges on January 18, in Quincy District Court, where not-guilty pleas were entered on his behalf and he was held without bail.

Children under state custody

The Walshes have three young sons – ages two, four, and six – who all are now in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
