A 22-year-old mother is suspected of stabbing to death her two boys, aged 3 and 11 months, then concealing them in the bathtub in her Bronx apartment, where their father found him unresponsive.
The accused is Dimone Fleming, 22. Witnesses who live in the building told DailyMail.com they saw the mother standing in the hallway in the moments before the police arrived, holding her head and screaming: “What’d I do? What did I do?”
When police first arrived, they found Fleming “erratic and naked.” Cops had not yet realized that her two children had been stabbed multiple times in the neck and torso.
Emergency services had been called to the scene twice. It wasn’t until the second trip that they found the two young boys dead.
The father, Columbus Canada, was the one who discovered the lifeless children in the bathtub. He had left the home a day earlier after having an argument with Fleming. He reportedly told police that he had stayed in his car overnight.
Fleming has not yet been declared the official suspect but was arrested and remains in custody as a person of interest in the case. Charges were not immediately filed.
Fleming’s family says that Dimone thought her children were ‘devils,’ and she would often talk about demons.
Only hours before she allegedly stabbed her two sons, she posted on her Facebook account:
“It’s only one true God and I repent from all wrong doings and negative influence,” Fleming wrote. “Leaving all things that’s no longer serves me…Thank you for your mercy.”
