Ready for a McYeezy or McYe? Kanye West announced he has teamed up with Muji industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa to ‘reimagine’ McDonald’s food packaging and has released at least one design on his Instagram.

Rapper Kanye West, 44, who changed his name in August 2021 to simply Ye, has been freed from his Instagram hate-speech ban and returned on Monday to announce he’s redesigning McDonald’s food packaging.
In his Instagram post, West posted a photo of a new design.
“Ye teams up with legendary Muji industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa to reimagine McDonald’s packaging,” West captioned the photo.
“From its transparent wrapper to its boxy shape, the design definitely has the Kanye touch,” the Daily Mail opined. “Much like his Yeezy clothing line and infamous interior design style, the packaging was minimal and understated.”
Yahoo! News wrote: “The packaging has been hailed as clean and minimalist, echoing his Yeezy clothing line range.”
Reportedly, there are several other seemingly completed designs that West will be previewing, as he issued a hint.
“Next week it’s the fries,’ Ye wrote on his Instagram Stories, making a reference to his 2005 Track Gold Digger, where he rapped, “This week he moppin’ floors, next week it’s the fries.”
According to sources that checked the company’s Twitter and Instagram accounts, McDonald’s has yet to comment on the packaging designs or the collaboration.
Further, West or McDonald’s has yet to comment on whether or when the food packaging redesigns by himself and collaborator Fukasawa will launch and whether or not these will be a limited edition or permanent change. Further, no details on whether this collaboration between Ye and the fast food chain will extend beyond the burger box into other areas.
West is a Golden Arches fan boy
In the past, West has previously made his admiration for Mickey D’s apparent in his work, such as his poem “McDonald’s Man.”
“I always knew them French fries was evil man / Smelling all good and s*** / I don’t trust no food that smells that good man.”
Back in 2020, West and his then-wife Kim Kardashian, 41, were featured in a McDonald’s Instagram post detailing their favorite meals. Kanye listed his favorite order consisting of Chicken McNuggets with tangy BBQ sauce, fries, and a milkshake. Kim listed Chicken McNuggets, hamburger, French fries, a shake, and apple pie.
